THE HOT
TIN ROOF

GARDEN

RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2021
Inspired by life by the beach, but designed for an urban area, the garden’s defining features are the large circular containers that dominate the space. The containers and rear feature wall are constructed from corrugated steel, but are designed to echo a rustic tin roofed beach shack. The planting here is determined by the shady nature of the imagined space, and the choice of plants produce a cool atmosphere. In contrast the hard landscaping is inspired by a coastal theme and feels warm, with colours inspired by sand and sea. Curves are a common theme in the design, from the undulating corrugated steel planters, to the funky abstract print in the tiles.
