Sponsors of the Dreamscape Garden
Gaze Burvill have generously lent two of their timeless Broadwalk benches to be featured in the centre of the garden. The classic, backless design sits beautifully against the naturalistc planting. The curve of the central planting island is informed by the shape of the benches, allowing them to feel at one with the rest of the garden.
Specialists in decorative plaster finishes, Chrysalis were able to bring the pink sculptural elements to life with their expertise. On this project, they utilised the historic method of Tadelakt orginating from Morocco. It has been used for centuries to waterproof various outdoor structures because it is impermeable and highly resistant to rapid changes in temperature.
London Stone kindly donated the fantastic mint sandstone rock-faced coping stones, that add the final detail to the feature wall at the rear of the garden. London Stone is a market leader in the supply of natural stone paving to clients throughout the UK and I am very proud to have had their input on the garden.
Higgins Cladding kindly provided their excellent pre-cast cladding product, Kopestone Buff Weathered, that gives a naturalistic look to the rear wall. Using a process that replicates the colours and textures of traditional stone, the pre-cast stone slips look and feel natural, but are much lighter in weight and so are ideal for a garden project.
Stone Warehouse kindly donated the Goldpath® surface to the show garden. This material provides a naturally self-binding, attractive and low maintenance surface that is comfortable to walk on, perfect for a naturalistic garden setting. Goldpath® binds and compacts to create a surface less susceptible to scuffing and moving around than traditional gravels.
I am proud to be showcasing the Seville Brick Paver in the show garden, a key detail in this space. Chelmer Valley is unique in offering exclusively clay paving bricks to all sectors of the UK market, from domestic home projects to large major infrastructure schemes. Their friendly team had real creative input and were hugely helpful during the design process.
Deepdale have been hugely supportive of all the Young Designers at the show this year. They kindly sponsored the two trees on the garden, Betula pendula (Weeping Silver Birch) which are a central feature, successfully anchoring the entire planting scheme into the space. Established in 1995, they specialise in the production of Air-Pot® container and field grown semi-mature trees, shrubs and hedging.
CORE Landscape Products design, manufacture and supply high quality
eco-friendly products that are built to last and require minimal maintenance. They kindly donated their brown flexible steel edging to the garden, which forms a neat curving edge to the meandering pathways through the space. The product is incredibly easy to install and looks great in a naturalistic garden setting.
Rolawn offer Britain's finest turf, topsoil and bark and are a national supplier to both retail and trade. Rolawn have kindly donated both their landscaping bark, a mid-dark brown, quality multi-purpose grade bark and turf to finish the garden boundaries. Their landscaping bark can also be used as a mulch to inhibit weed development, improve moisture retention and act as insulation for plant roots.
Floraselect offers a wide range of pots, garden planters and water features from corten steel to hardwood. Their knowledgable team reccommended the water bowl which is such a central feature of the garden. This still water feature provides a meditative element to the garden. Floraselect has a wide range of similar bowls available which are ideal for a contemporary outdoor space.
Forming the structural backbone of the garden, the interlocking Dursiol blocks provide an innovative alternative to traditional breezeblock walling. The system is fast and straightforward, and the units are manufactured in the UK. The are ideal for use in the garden as they are so easy to use. They can be dressed with stone cladding or rendered, and can also be used to build retaining walls.
